I don't know if you guys are really up on the latest Pokemon news, but The official Japanese Pokemon website has announced that a new Pokemon RPG will be released for the DS by the end of the year and that it will for sure feature brand new Pokemon. It's the "first new work" since Diamond and Pearl as the announcement states, meaning it will more than likely be a main game like Red, Gold, Pearl, etc. Also, Gamefreak director Junichi Masuda has also mentioned on his blog that there is a new Pokemon game in development. But, what do you guys think?

New generation? or another filler game with new Pokemon?

sounds like the same old crap... for now... but don't get me wrong, a new pokemon game with a new style would be nice. like the non-rpg pokemon rumble game on wii shop channel. good game that is. but i'm gonna wait to see more news on this one before i say anything good about a new pokemon rpg.

I disagree for this moment. I mean, I think there is no way a 5th gen could happen.

Really, Magazine? I'm sure Nintendo would easily be able to pump out at least ten more generations. I don't think there's any doubt that there will be a fifth generation of Pokemon.

I just hope it doesn't get as stale as DPPt did for me, and I wouldn't mind some evolutions of G1 Pokemon that are in need of an improvement.

I doubt it, seeing as how they usually reveal a brand new Pokemon before any mention of a brand new Pokemon RPG featuring the rest of the new generation.

Unless they're changing their routine on us, I think it's just a(nother) spinoff thingermabob, or something. :L

Got a new Wii and now I gotta start my shiz over from scratch.

It's been close to 4 years since the release of Diamond and Pearl, so I would not doubt at all that generation 5 will be released by the end of the year. It only took them a little less than 3 years to get Ruby & Sapphire out after Gold and Silver.

I am honestly kinda stumped upon what Gamefreak is going to do with this one, though. Because of how a lot of the DS features have already been used over the past 3 years, and that this will be the first core generation game to hit the same console as the previous gen since Gold and Silver.

I suppose only CoroCoro will tell though... unless Pokemon Sunday says anything before the issue. =/

another Pokemon game, huh? just another way for Nintendo to reap huge bux from the allowance reserves of little kiddies(not saying that all you guys are kids). I don't know if this game will be much different from the gen 4 games, but if it's not, then I won't be surprised! And btw, should people be paying attention to HG/SS? That game hasn't even come out yet in the US, right?

Depending on if the remakes of Gold and Silver really drive me into a Poke frenzy. I will likely buy it regardless if it is a bunch of rehash. Just because I have loads of newly discovered Poke-players locally that the multiplayer purposes alone would warrant the price tag.
