The hit SNES title gets a remake for the Nintendo DS. Woot.
Some of you Kirby fans may or may not have played Kirby Super Star for
the Super
Nintendo (I haven't). For those who have, I think it's safe
to say that it's one of the best games in the franchise. For those who
missed out, now's your chance to get it for the DS, in the form of
Kirby Super Star Ultra.
Kirby Super Star Ultra isn't just one
game. Rather, it's several games in one. It consists of short,
single-player adventures and multiplayer minigames. In the
single-player games, you play as Kirby and (you guessed it) suck up
enemies, steal their abilities, and use them against your foes. You can
also spit up the enemies you inhaled and recruit them. They'll fight
for you. Some new additions include co-op play in the single-player
games, in which the 2nd player plays as Kirby's recruit. Nifty, indeed.
The
multiplayer games varied and numerous. You can also choose to play the
multiplayer games against the CPU (though that probably won't be as
entertaining). You'll be playing a card game in one minigame or
competing in quick draw matches in another, and then some. Lots of fun
bound to be had here, especially with other players.
Kirby Super
Star will of course utilize the DS's touch screen for some or all of
the games. The game is scheduled to be hitting store shelves sometime
next month.
