IGN gets their hands on the new Fire Emblem title that's out in Japan.
This newest Fire Emblem installment is a remake of the NES game that
stars Marth from Super Smash Bros Melee/Brawl, dubbed Fire Emblem:
Shadow Dragons and the Blade of Light (Jap-to-Eng subtitle translation).
This
remake has a slew of new features, including Wifi-play (a first in the
series), new sidequests, weapons, characters, and more.
Of
course both screens are utilized in the title. The bottom screen
displays the character sprites on top of the world map. You control
your units with the touch screen and can order them whether to attack,
use an item, wait, etc. The top screen displays the characters' stats,
cutscenes, and the battles between units. The character portraits and
cutscenes look pleasing enough, however the battle animations do leave
a little to be desired. Still, this looks to be a very promising game
and needs to be translated and ported to the US and other regions ASAP,
but that will take awhile I'm guessing.
